Thermal Imaging Cameras Its Applications And Usage

Thermal Imaging Cameras Its Applications And Usage

Temperature is measured in many ways and has many applications in our everyday lives; like checking for a fever, overheating of appliances, room temperatures, weather and many others. Thermal imaging cameras, on the other hand, have another way of measuring temperature. Instead of providing the user the exact reading of temperature, thermal imaging cameras provide the user with a visual reading where the level of temperature is shown by colors. These pictures provided by these cameras are produce by rapid firing of infrared lights for a quick scanning of an area and recording the temperature in every space by means of color; red for hot, blue for cold and green or yellow for neutral.
The Use of Thermal imaging cameras

Thermal imaging cameras are used in many ways. These are primarily used to detect and diagnose problems that have something to do with thermal patterns such as poor insulations or overloaded circuits. Thermal imaging cameras are used in international airports as well to detect passengers with fever or illness. This is to prevent and protect a nation against outbreak of the most contagious diseases like the outbreak of SARS, Bird Flu and Mad Cow Disease before.

Thermal imaging cameras can detect almost anything that has contains heat in it. Overall;
It can detect air leaks
It can detect moisture
It can detect plumbing leaks

Thermal Imaging Binoculars

Aside from thermal imaging cameras, one application of thermography (thermal imaging) are the thermal imaging binoculars. The same function applies but thermal imaging binoculars have more scope and range. It commonly used by soldiers or people in the army. It acts as night vision as well for we are all aware that body heat is emitted by us.

Thermal scopes

Thermal scopes are like thermal imaging binoculars but are created specifically to be attached to something usually a rifle. Like the thermal imaging camera and binocular, thermal scopes detects heat and can give you a visual with respect to the heat on a certain thing.

Now, there are many questions about the capability of thermal imaging technology. One of which is if it can see through walls. Well, when you use a thermal imaging device, you might have a photo of an outline of a wall or a post but actually these are created because of the heat that is on an objects surface. These are just transmitted thermal energy.

There are still many applications and usage of thermal imaging technology and certain innovations are still in experiment.
